“I’ve been a customer of Peter Lederman and Soundsmith for 5 years now, and remain a massive fan of him and his product.
I moved up to the Straingauge from Denon 103 to Roksan Shiraz to Lyra Parnassus to Transfiguration Orpheus.
So this should tell you how good the Straingauge is for me to be so happy with it.
The Straingauge seems to get so many apparent contradictions right.
It is possible to have great speed but also be ‘in the moment’.
It is possible to have great detail resolution but also great tone density.
The cartridge pulls off the best balance of the “fast/forensic/transparent” cartridges with the “warm/dense/timbral” cartridges
Peter also remains a great guy to deal with, I place a lot in having something close to a friendly helpful relationship w designers (similar with Sean Casey of my Zu spkrs), and despite the workload that Peter deals with, he is always informative and affable on enquiries.
A top man, and top top cartridge.”
